How To Use Your DNA Kit
STEP 1:
Register your kit and complete the form.
Do not eat, drink, smoke, brush your teeth or chew gum for 30 minutes before collecting DNA.
Do not swallow the stabilizing solution. If it comes into contact with the skin or eyes, wash with plenty of water.
STEP 2:
Gather your DNA Sample.
Remove the collection funnel and tube from the pack. Check the level of the liquid in the tube is at the 2ml “FROM >” line before use. If the solution is cloudy, warm the tube gently in your hands for a few minutes.
STEP 3:
Start spitting into the funnel. If the saliva does not flow easily into the tube, unscrew the funnel partially. Fill the tube with saliva until it reaches the 4ml “FILL TO >” line (not including bubbles).
STEP 4:
Unscrew the collection funnel and replace the tube cap tightly. Discard the funnel.
STEP 5:
Shake the collection tube several times to mix the saliva with the solution.
STEP 6:
Place the DNA sample inside the specimen bag.
STEP 7:
Put the entire box inside the trackable prepaid return envelope and mail.
STEP 8:
Wait 6-8 weeks. Once the results are ready you will be notified via email.
